Bookworm, writer, radio host—I blog about history, fiction, and publishing in the Internet Age. You can find the full blog on my website. This space is for books.
A peer is murdered shortly after he inherits his marquisate. Who is responsible? His cousin, who wants to remain in the only home she has ever known? The long-lost heir? The fiancée abandoned so that the new marquess can marry a wealthy American?
This is a job for Lady Emily Hargreaves and her handsome husband, Colin. No matter that they now have three infants in their care and what appears to be an unending visit from Emily's straitlaced mother, who considers murder a subject very much beneath the notice of any well-bred lady....
Another last-minute surprise from Tasha Alexander—and I got so close this time! Very few authors can still keep me guessing after so many books, but Alexander never fails. It's lovely, too, to see Lady Emily continue to develop. Can't wait for the next one in the series.
